Takashi Murakami has blurred the line between “high” art and “low” art for decades. We couldn’t wait to share his singular vision in our 5th UNO Artiste Series deck.
Murakami brings a combination of familiar characters and playful iconography to his new artistic palette. Keep an eye out for Mr. DOB, smiling flowers, and much more.
This set, featuring cards with a premium finish, includes a unique surprise: four double-sided “Artiste Extra” cards that create two different art pieces.
Takashi Murakami’s path to prominence had a humble beginning. “I was a high school senior, and the guidance teacher told me that I didn’t have enough academic ability to go to any university. In despair, I figured I might be able to go to a university if I could draw, even if I wasn't bright. The moment I told my parents that I was going to a prep school for an art university was the first time I realized I was to be an artist.”
Today, he’s recognized as one of our most important contemporary artists. His Superflat theory “clarified the difference between the three-dimensional spatial representation in the West and the two-dimensional representation in Asia,” he says. “I think the fact that the arrangements of colors, based on the Superflat theory, can create a sense of space unique to painting. My kids love UNO and they play together with their friends. My daughter in particular is aware that she’s really good at it; it’s a very familiar game for me. I hope families who already love UNO will find this Murakami collaboration deck refreshing—I’d be happy if they gift it for some special occasion like an anniversary of some sort.”

Sometimes old toys and comics need to find new homes or owners to appreciate them and add them to their collections. For this purpose we buy and sell pre-owned items.
For some collectors it is a great way of getting an item they missed out on the first time around as many of these figures are no longer produced or are available to order from suppliers.
Pre-owned means the item may have been removed from packaging and handled or displayed in a previous owner's collection at some stage. Sometimes the item and parts can be put back into the original packaging.
Pre-owned items can come as boxed, loose but complete, or with parts/accessories missing. Packaging may also be scuffed or display shelf wear or other damage. If you are looking for this item in a brand new pristine condition , you may have to go to Google and look for another site.
Each listing will have photos that display what parts and accesories will come with the item when you purchase a pre-owned item. What you see is what you are getting so please check the photos carefully.
Each pre-owned item has been checked and cleaned. Condition can range from very good to buried in a yard for years. Defects and or repairs will be in the description.

Items will be posted out next business day via An Post and confirmation will be issued. Please allow 3-5 business days for delivery in Ireland. Some items may reach you sooner. This is due to the good work of your local post team.
Packages over 500g will be issued with a tracking number.
